Richard Broderick was apprentice of the year during his training which included a 2 year HNC in Building Studies, and culminating in his being chosen to project manage the first half of the improvements to the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford.

Richard left E.W. Beard after 11 years and spent one year looking after his new born daughter full time.  He has now been successfully trading for 4 years in Oxford and the surrounding area and leaving a trail of happy customers.

Richard loves wood; seeing it grow, harvesting it for its many uses, re-using it and recycling it whenever possible and his apprenticeship in carpentry and bench joinery gives him a high degree of skill to bring out the beauty of wood in its many forms, in everything he does. Richard’s respect for the environment is apparent in his approach to sourcing of wood and other materials and minimising waste, both on site and in the office.
